It opened Part 2 and covered state v. federal rules, timelines and deadlines, deciding whom to depose, taking good depositions (mistakes not to make), making effective use of depositions at trial, using depositions for settlement talks, objections to depositions, dealing with difficult counsel, bringing in the judge, preparing your client, preparing your expert witness, and deposition related sanctions motions.

Damian has been speaking at our Superior Court Boot Camp for a decade, going back to our 11th Annual program, and has also spoken at our Federal Court Boot Camp. He routinely gets rave reviews from our attendees.
Damian D. Capozzola has been a litigator based in Southern California since 1996, and has handled significant litigation matters across a broad spectrum of industries for some of the world’s largest defense contractors, food manufacturers and wholesalers, and telecommunications companies. Previously a partner at three national law firms, in 2013 he founded his own firm focusing on business litigation, employment law, and personal injury. He has written and lectured extensively on working with experts, civil procedure, and litigation strategies, including the effective use of technology in the courtroom. Since 2006 he has been the co-author of the Thomson Reuters/West Trial Practice Series treatise, “Expert Witnesses in Civil Trials: Effective Preparation and Presentation.” He is a Past-Chair of the California Law Revision Commission, a Past-President of the Los Angeles Italian-American Lawyers, and a former Executive Vice-President for the National Italian-American Bar Association.
