Seminars, Registration, Group Rates and Cancellation
Hi, we’re sorry, but the Legal Aid Firm discount rate is made available only to those attorneys who are employed by legal aid firms.
When two or more attorneys register at the same time, they can select the “group rate” option. If only one attorney in your office registers and then at some point later another attorney wants to go, please call us and we’ll process the registration by hand so both of them receive the group rate.
We have a limited number of scholarships available for all of our programs. Scholarships are issued on a first come, first served basis. The bulk of scholarships, full or partial, are given to legal aid firm attorneys (attorneys that work at legal aid firms). Please call or email us with your request.
Yes, substitutions are allowed at any time, please just notify us by calling or emailing so we may update our registration list.
Seminar Cancellations:
For In-Person Attendance: Should you be unable to attend for any reason, please inform us via email no later than 14 days prior to the event and a credit voucher will be issued. If you prefer, a refund, less a $50 non-refundable administrative fee, will be issued. No refunds will be given for In-Person Attendance cancellations received within 14 days of an event. However, if you notify us within 14 days of an event, and wish to convert your In-Person attendance registration to an Recorded Package CD/DVD or Download (with handout and all materials/PowerPoints), we can do so. For CD/DVDs, a small additional shipping charge, and sales tax in CA, will be incurred. No shipping charge is incurred for downloads. We can also issue a voucher for the full amount paid if you notify us within 14 days and prefer not to have the recorded package.
Webinars and Live Webcast Cancellations: Once log-in links are issued for a webinar or webcast (approximately one week before the program), a refund is not possible. If for any reason you cannot attend the event after you have received the log in links, we will automatically convert your registration to a download or DVD/CD format and provide you with the information you need to access the recording after the program concludes and the recording is available. For CD/DVDs, a small additional shipping charge, and sales tax in CA, will be incurred. No shipping charge is incurred for downloads.
Substitutions may be made at any time.
Return/Refund Policy for DVDs and CDs: CDs and DVDs are returnable for a full refund or replacement only if defective, within 90 days of purchase.

To troubleshoot your download or for detailed downloading instructions, please view our FAQ.
We’re sorry, but we do not give refunds for recorded package downloads unless you have not downloaded the package to your computer, which we can verify on our end via our shopping cart system that automatically records when and how many times a person has downloaded a program.

We accept Visa, Master Card, American Express, and check payments.
Don’t worry, our server is secure! If you want the technical answer, here’s what our tech guy says: Our site uses SSL for encrypted HTTPS communication using RSA-256 encryption, protecting traffic between your web browser and the web server from interception. Payment information is handled by USAePay’s secure embedded system, and as a result, we do not store credit card numbers in our database.
If you want a more simple answer, here’s the scoop: we use the latest security encryption software to protect the site and your purchases and the only information in our database about you is the contact information you enter when registering for, or purchasing, a program. We do not store credit cards – all payments are processed through a third party (USAePay).
After you place your order, you will receive a confirmation email that you may use as an invoice. If you need something other than the confirmation email as an invoice for your firm or agency, please email us.
Our shopping cart automatically generates a confirmation email as soon as you finalize your order. Emails frequently end up in spam folders. If you did not receive a confirmation email right after you concluded your online order, please check your spam folder. Please remember, that there are frequently two levels of spam folders – your server (talk to your IT staff or go directly to email spam folder) and then your own email program, such as Outlook or MacMail. You need to check both, but we always start with our own email program.

Please note that government email servers are notorious for routing confirmation emails to spam folders.

Downloads and DVD/CD related questions
DVD/CD orders:If you received a DVD/CD, look in the back part of your DVD/CD disc case and you will see a disc called “Resource Disc” or “Materials Disc”. That has a .pdf of the handout and any other materials provided during the seminar.
Download orders: Your download zip file will have a folder called “Seminar Materials and CLE” or “Resource Disc seminar handouts and materials” or something along those lines.
Like the DVD/CD packages, that folder has a .pdf of the handout and any other materials provided during the seminar.
Please give us a call and we’ll trouble shoot it with you. If you have not yet paid for the program, you cannot access the download until we receive your check or you call us with your credit card. We can be reached at (877) 858-3848.
Remember, if you ordered a program that has not yet been held, however, it won’t be in your account until 2-3 weeks after it is held since our programs are recorded live.
We’re sorry, but we do not give refunds or audio or video downloads. Our audio and video downloads are tested independently by three different entities to be sure they work before we post them for sale. We are happy to two-day or overnight you replacement DVD/CDs if your computer will not download properly or if you cannot find your download folder or you cannot find the audio or video to play it once it has been downloaded. We are also happy to troubleshoot the issue with you or your IT staff or have our IT staff do the same with your IT staff. See below for detailed troubleshooting instructions.
If your download does not play once you download and extract your files, please make sure that you are downloading to a computer (not a phone/tablet) and that you have an updated media player / music software. Windows Media Player is no longer supported for Windows 8 and Windows 10 computers. If you see the tracks in your downloaded files, but they do not play, you may have an older music player and need to update it.
We recommend using VLC Media Player ( https://www.videolan.org/vlc/ ) to play our audio/video files.
Detailed instructions:
Please click to download your file. Make sure you have a steady internet connection and that you are downloading to a computer. The zip file will not open on a mobile device. However, after you download to a computer and then extract the files, you can then move just your audio files or your PDF documents to another device.
Once your file has finished downloading, go to your downloads folder. You should see a new zip file with Pincus in the name. Click on the zip file and then click the button that says: “Extract all Files” (if you don’t see this button, try right-clicking on your zip file). You will see a folder for your seminar materials and a separate folder(s) for your audio files.
Once you open your audio files, if they do not play when you double-click the first track, you may need to update your music software. We recommend VLC Media Player ( https://www.videolan.org/vlc/ ). After updating your software, you can either drag the tracks into the VLC Media Player window, or you can right click on a track and select “Open With” > VLC Media Player. Your audio track should begin playing.
If your DVD/CD does not automatically begin playing when you insert the disc, you may need to view the contents of your DVD/CD through File Explorer. First, open VLC Media Player or whatever media player your computer uses. Then, go to the “My Computer” icon or similar that shows all drives and files on your computer. Find your DVD/CD drive and then drag the audio or video into the open VLC Media Player window (or whichever media player you prefer). They should begin to play. Or, you can right click on Track 1 and select “Open With” and choose VLC Media Player (or whatever media player you prefer.)
If you see the tracks in the DVD/CD folder, but they do not play, you may have an older music player and need to update it. We recommend VLC Media Player ( https://www.videolan.org/vlc/ )
You can download to 3 to 4 computers.
Nope. You’ll need to download to your computer first, then load the .mp3 or .mp4 files into whatever program you use to play audio or video files (such as iTunes for apple products, VLC Media Player, Windows Media Player, or similar).
