Trucking Litigation Webinar [Plaintiff’s perspective]

Audio program! (check our CLE Programs page for live versions)

During this one-hour audio conference, you will hear from two trial lawyers who have successfully taken on the most powerful trucking companies in obtaining justice for victims of catastrophic injuries and wrongful death. Learn how to utilize federal regulations and key industry documents to bolster your case. This is one program you will not want to miss.

The most important thing to know about trucking litigation is that it is simply not like a typical car wreck case: 1. the trucking industry is heavily regulated by the federal government and these regulations (the FMSCRs) affect every aspect of a trucking case; and 2. there typically is significant insurance coverage (the FMSCRs require federal motor carriers to maintain at least $750,000 in liability insurance). In this presentation, you will learn the top 10 things auto accident lawyers need to know about a trucking case.

Michael Leizerman, Esq.
Managing Partner
EJ Leizerman & Associates, LLC.

– Due to unforeseen circumstances, Michael Leizerman will be speaking in place of Rena Samole. –

In 2012, the Trucking Industry Defense Association wrote about Michael, "DO NOT underestimate the importance of a lawyer like Leizerman to produce the mega-verdict. There are about 12-15 lawyers around the country that are the BEST OF THE BEST in transportation related verdicts.”

Michael literally wrote the book that thousands of lawyers across the country use in truck accident cases.   He is the author of the Thomson West/AAJ three-volume treatise, "Litigating Truck Accident Cases."

He was the first Chair of AAJ’s Trucking Litigation Group.

Michael says one of the most important experiences he ever had was attending truck driving school and obtaining his Commercial Driver’s License while in the middle of managing his practice.

Among his many honors and multiple board certifications, Michael is particularly proud to be a graduate of Gerry Spence’s Trial Lawyers College.

In March of 2012, he received the first punitive damages verdict in the country in a trucking broker negligent selection case in Oregon against the broker and truck driver for .2 million. Ten days later in Arizona, he received a .2 million verdict in the consortium-only case of two parents for the death of their 31-year-old son against Covenant Transportation.
